Children belong here!  At First Pres, we believe no matter how young or old we are, we have much to offer each other and God.  Our faith community is committed to supporting and nurturing our children where ever they are on their journey of faith, learning, wondering, and growing alongside them as we experience and share God’s love together.

Nursery Care—Sunday mornings

Children are always welcome in worship with their families!

We also have a nursery room for infants-3 year olds, staffed with two excellent caregivers. You’re welcome to sign your child in starting at 9:45, and pick them up when the service is over.

Children’s Chapel – Sunday mornings

Children’s Chapel gathers on Sunday mornings during worship.

After beginning worship in the sanctuary with their families, children ages 3 years through 6th grade are invited to the chapel for a meaningful time of encountering God and connecting with each other, through simple liturgy, songs, prayer, and the stories of our faith, led by Lindley Traynor, Director of Children & Family Ministries.  Children return to sit with their families in the sanctuary toward the end of the service.

Midweek Meetup – Wednesday afternoons

Our current season of Midweek Meetup gathers on Wednesdays from 5 pm to 6 pm, followed by church family dinner.

Midweek Meetup is a time of crafts, games, music, and fun with friends for children ages 3 years through 6th grade, followed by a family dinner in the Wallace Moore Fellowship Center (lower level).  Parents are invited to drop children off, stay and help with the activity, or gather in the Green Room for parent fellowship during the children’s program.  Contact Peggy Massello, Director of Music Ministries, or Lindley Traynor, Director of Children and Family Ministry for more information.

5th and 6th Graders

Our 5th and 6th graders are always welcome at Midweek Meetup and Sunday morning Children’s Chapel. Students are also invited to Sunday morning 5th-8th Grade Fellowship from 8:30 am to 9:45 am. For information and additional program options for our 5th-8th grade students, please refer to the Youth page.
